Training Philosophy
We believe great franchises are built on great training. Abu Omar Halal provides a structured initial training program that blends classroom instruction with extensive on‑the‑job learning at our locations and at the franchisee’s restaurant or food truck.
Training covers our mission and objectives, products and services, daily operations, staffing, guest service, accounting and bookkeeping, advertising and marketing, cleaning and maintenance, and POS operations.
Initial Franchise Training
- Who attends: Franchise owners (or their designated representative), general manager, assistant managers, supervisors, and key team leaders—up to four trainees at no charge, with a fee per additional attendee.
- Format & duration: Typically 14–18 hours of classroom training plus 60–72 hours of on‑the‑job training for restaurant franchises, and an additional 2 hours of food truck‑specific training for food truck franchises.
- Timing: Conducted approximately 4–6 weeks prior to opening, with portions delivered in Houston, TX and/or on‑site at the franchisee’s location.
Completion of training is evaluated in our reasonable judgment. In cases where key trainees do not successfully complete training, we may require re‑training or the hiring of new management personnel before opening.
Pre‑Opening & Opening Support
- Reviewing and approving your site, layout, and design plan
- Providing checklists for pre‑opening tasks and “countdown to opening” milestones
- Supporting you as you order equipment, signage, inventory, and supplies
- Assisting with the scheduling of initial training and opening support
During your soft opening and grand opening, we provide on‑site support to help you and your team execute our systems, manage rushes, and deliver a great guest experience.
Ongoing Operational Support
- Phone, email, and web‑based assistance for operations questions
- WhatsApp and other group communication channels for daily updates, new developments, and operational guidance
- Periodic web meetings and, as needed, on‑site visits to review operations, marketing, and performance
We may also provide refresher training if new menu items are introduced or if a franchise business and its management team are under‑performing.
